Twisted Easel Card and another bookmark!!

I decided to have a go at a Twisted Easel Card last night and as easy as it was to make I had an idea in my head of how I wanted to decorate it but it just didn't come together like I had imagined. I still like it and my boys loved it, so it will get used..
 The Tilda and Edwin images had been coloured awhile ago...Edwin is coloured with Aquacrayons and Copics and Tilda is coloured in with aquacrayons and H20's. The boat is coloured in with copics and Tria's.. The DP paper is kaisercraft. I didn't add any embellishments because I thought the paper was busy enough!! I'm not overly happy with the colour of Edwin's skin but I'm off to Paperific here in Melbourne on Sunday so I'm hoping to pick up a few new Tria markers to fix that problem!!

I have entered this card in the following challenge:
* Creative Card Crew - For a Child
* A Gem of a Challenge - Anything Goes
* Quirky Crafts - Twisted Easel Card and /or a mothers day gift!!

I also made another another bookmark for my younegr son Logan.. He started speech therapy a few weeks ago and I altered a notebook (which you can see in a few posts below) for him and when I made the bookmark for me and Liam Logan decided he wanted one too for his speech book!! He did choose totally different stamps and papers from what I ended up using but I was sitting here the other night and just got an idea in my head and so went with it!!!  This is a sweet pea stamp I won a few weeks ago and DP paper I got from a friend. I coloured the dragon in with Tria markers and copics. I then just found some cross stitch cottons that matched the colours of the papers, added a button, added the star bling and coloured it in with a tria marker and added the antique embellishment. Logan absolutely loved it!! As did I!!

I've entered this in the following challenges:
* A Gem of  a Challenge - Anything Goes
* Crafts and Me Challenges - Yellow

Well that's it from me for today!! Another busy day for me tomorrow,  so I'm going to  get tidy up then off to bed for me!

Until Next Time...Enjoy!! xx

I am hooked...

...on Corner Bookmarks.  tehehehe!!! These are so fun to make, and easy! The hard part is deciding how to decorate them!!
  Before I show you my bookmarks i just had to share the news that I won the public vote over at Quirky Crafts thanks to a few friends who voted for my pirate dragon card and now I get the chance to be a guest designer!! Not sure when yet but it's still exciting!!
Ok, now that I've tooted my own horn :) back to my bookmarks!! After making the first one (which is a couple of posts below), I decided to make a girly one for me. I thought lil Fashionette 60's Willow from TPS was perfect for what I wanted to create!! I decided I wanted to do a black and white theme with one other colour and I  chose red. So I chose my DP first then went from there!! I coloured Willow in with Tria Markers; Copics and H20's. When I put it all together I added the flowers, ribbon and rhinestones and I thought I maybe needed something else but I keep trying to add something to it but nothing seems to look right so I've decided it looks fine!! Forgot to mention that I can't sew that is why the sewing isn't straight. I don't even own a sewing machine, I have used a little handle held sewing machine that is very hard to control. Well that is my excuse...LOL!!!
What do you think?

So I have decided to enter this into the following challenges

* Creative Inspirations Paint - Flowers
* Sugar Creek Hollow - Sensational Stitching
* Crafty Creations - In Stitches
* A Spoonfull of Sugar - Ribbon, Pearls/Rhinestones and Flowers

This is my second bookmark!!!! My oldest son, Liam loved my first bookmark so much that he decided he wanted one. So I asked him to pick a stamp and tell me what colours he wanted it coloured. I coloured this fab image of Lil Lad Stefan in with Tria's and copics. Still learning to colour and as you can see (in both images the colour has bled a bit - I think due to that fact that I'm not using the paper I'm supposed to).  Then last night I asked Liam to  pick the papers he wanted and once the boys were in bed I put the bookmark all together!! My brother drew this combi van a couple of years ago and I thought it would go perfect with Lil Lad Stefan. I have put crystal effects over all the windows to give it a glass like look and did the same with Stefan's sunglasses. The brads I added are from kaisercraft which I have had for about 2 years but never used them!!! I added some ribbon too but you can't really see the blue ribbon!!
Liam woke up this morning and saw his bookmark and just loved it! He even took it to school for show and tell!!

I have entered this into the following challenges
* Tickled Pink Stamps - One for the Lads
* The Sisterhood of Crafters - Let's hear it for the Boys
* Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
* A Gem of a Challenge - Anything but Square

Well I am off to make annother bookmark for my younger son!! :)

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

Unfortunately nothing creative to share with you today but i do have some news... exciting news in fact.. exciting for me anyway!!! The lovely Gill over at Creations by Gill M has invited me to be part of her Tartan Day Blog Hop on the 6th April...

 Of course I jumped at the chance and said yes  but then panicked when I read that I had to make some sort of creation with tartan!! AARRGGHH! Anyway, I have since found a website where you can design your own tartan for free and last night I was talking to my friend Sam over at Sew Many Crafts, So Little Time and we discussed what I could do and we have now come up with an idea for me!! So now I just have to get a few supplies and I can create!! I can't wait!! So be sure to come back on the 6th April and check out the fun and games!!
Gill has also started a RAK (Random acts of Kindness) Club where   us crafters all get together and send each other cards on a monthly basis - hence the act of kindness!

I thought it would be great to be a part of this cos I only ever get bills in the mail these days so it will be nice to receive a handmade card every once in awhile.. You can join in too.. Just head over to Gill's blog Here and you'll find all the info you need!!!
And while you are there be sure to enter the blog Candy!!! Gill will be giving it away once she reaches 300 followers and she only needs 8 more followers to reach her goal so get there quick!!

Hopefully by the time I reach 200 followers I will be able to give some blog candy away.. I think it's only fair seeing as I win so much myself!!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!!! xx

My first corner bookmark!!

I really should be doing  housework but wanted to get this posted so I can enter it in a few challenges!! Over on Tickled Pink Stamps facebook page kellie has set up a challenge for us followers to make a corner bookmark!! I have been looking at these for awhile now but never gotten around to making one so I neglected the house last night and sat down and created and look what I made...

I followed the tutorial on splitcoast stampers and then went off in my own little world and decorated it!! I have had the Stampin Up papers for ages and not used them but when I started colouring Lil Lad Eric in these colours I knew the paper would be perfect. The brown CS is Kaszazz and the blue ribbon is also Stampin Up which matched perfectly with the paper (was a prize I won last year).I coloured Lil Lad eric in with copics and Tria markers, distressed the edges of the bookmark with Walnut Stain and inked up the "B"with walnut stain also and covered it in crystal effects. Then I added the buttons and stapled the stars on as TPS is currently having a challenge that requires you to use something off your scrap desk!! So using something that you wouldn't usually use on a card or project!! (in my case - staples)

So I have entered this in the following challenges
* Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges - Something off your scrap desk (Staples)
* Tip Top Tuesday - Show me those buttons
* Clear it out Challenge - Buttons
* Tuesday Throwdown - Anything but a card
* Lexi's Creations - Ribbons but no bows or knots
* My partner in Crafting Crime- buttons
* The Corrosive Challenge Blog - recipe - 3 papers, 2 ribbons and 1 image!!
* Really reasonable ribbons Ramblings - one for the boys
* Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Anything But a card
* Polka Doodles - All about Books

Now before I go and do some housework - BORING ;0). I just need to say a few Thank you's. A couple of weeks ago I participated in the Tickled Pink Stamps Blog Hop for the Lil Lad's new release and to the delight of me and my boys I won the whole set!!!! So Thanks Kellie for a wonderful Blog Hop, You and the DT are very inspirational in what you all create and I love all the stamps you are bringing out!!!
 If you'd like to check out the Lil Lad's and all the other Tickled Pink Stamps then head on over to TPS shop and I'm sure you'll fall in love with these stamps!!
And the winning streak continues cos on Tuesday Top Tip Tuesday announced their winners for their last challenge and although I did not win for my card I won the top tip of the week which was:
When heat embossing, if the powder doesn't stick to the versamarked image because it hasn't been stamped properly then brush off the powder, grab your embossing buddy (puff static away pillow) and rub it over the stamped image. This will get rid of the stickiness, then you can restamp and emboss again!!
Hope this helps someone!!

And for the tip I won two digi stamps from  Glitterbabe greetings. they have some goregous digi images so can't wait to choose which one's I would like.
So Thank you to the ladies over at Top Tip Tuesday!!!  And thank you also to Stef at Glitterbabe greetings!

Well the housework is not going to do itself (Unfortunately) so I really must go!!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

For the Boys!!

I have two cards and an altered notebook to share with you today and have decided to show you it all in this blogpost because it just takes too long to do three posts and I'm really enjoying making cards again so want to get back into it while I have the mojo!!
So first off I have a card that I made on the weekend while I was at my friend Colleen's. She is the one who got me into cardmaking and I think it's the best thing I have ever gotten into!!
Anyway, I used Henry the Mouse from Whiff of Joy Stamps on this card!! It was for a friends birthday but it was now a week ago so don't think I'll send it!! LOL! It's the thought that counts, right!! :) I used my aqua crayons to colour Henry and I've put some kindyglitz on the cake and candle! The sentiment is a Kaszazz stamp. Not sure what company the striped paper is but the cardstock is Kaszazz.
I have entered this card in the following challenges
* Whiff of Joy Challenges: Let's Celebrate
*Top Tip Tuesday: Happy Birthday
* Kaboodle Doodles: Happy Birthday

 I was sitting here last night and already had this Sweet Pea stamp coloured and wasn't too sure what to make so I went on over to  Feline Playful to see what sketches were around for this week!! I needed something to suit this stamp so I decided to follow the Quirky Crafts Sketch. Pretty simple sketch but great for the idea that I had to make this card!! I've had the skull and bones stamp for awhile and thought it was perfect for this card so I just embossed  them in black straight onto the red card!! So all papers are from Kaszazz and I coloured this image with aquacrayons. I've also used Twinkling H20's on the sail and I added crystal effects to the water and to the glass of the telescope. I showed my boys this card this morning and they just loved it!

 I am entering this card into the following challenges:
* Quirky cards: Sketch
* Simon Says Stamp: Happy Birthday
* Incy Wincy Designs: For the Boys
* Let's Ink It Up: Embossing

This final creation is an altered notebook! My youngest son has recently started speech therapy and in each session, as encouragement to focus, he is given lots of stickers. So I thought it would be great for him to have a book to keep them all in so he can see how well he is doing!! So while making  cards last night I decided that I would decorate the front of his notebook.. So this morning while the boys were at kinder and school I did it!! And I love it and realized that I could easily get sucked into scrapbooking!! As Colleen pointed out the other night, it's just like making cards but on a larger scale and I get to keep the end result!! Won't start that just yet.. :)
So I used this weeks The Sweet Stop Sketch to guide me and Logan chose the stamp he wanted!! I know that it's just a card on a slightly larger scale but I am so excited about how this looks!! I'm very proud of myself because I think I doubt what I can do sometimes!! So in the future you may start seeing some other altered projects or scrapbook pages!! Stay Tuned!!
Again I am not sure where the patterned papers are from but the cardstock is Kaszazz! I coloured the sweet Pea image in with my new Tria Markers which I'm sure I'll get better at using!! I've also used copics and H20's. (If you want to know the colours I've used please feel free to ask!!) Again I added crystal effects to the water and the telescope lens. The orange ribbon I've used is Stampin Up but not sure where the blue ribbon is from and the rhinestone stars are from Kaszazz. And of course I needed more bling so I added kindyglitz to all the small stars on the patterned paper!!
By the way, in case you were wondering, Logan absolutely loved his book and now Liam wants one done so that the stickers he gets from school for doing good work can be kept also!!

I have entered this into the following challenges:
* The Sweet Stop: Sketch
* Scrap Creations: Anything Goes

Well I think I have kept you long enough!! Hope you have liked what you have seen!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

A break through!!

I had a breakthrough with my camera today!!I have had my camera for nearly five years now and the last few months I have had issues trying to take clear pictures of my cards!! I thought that it's because my camera is just coming to the end of it's life but today I changed the setting to macro and you can see the results. I have not fixed this photo at all except to crop it and it's the best photo I have taken. I'm so super excited.. I do still need to get my camera fixed as it is having heaps of other issues but I keep putting it off because my camera goes everywhere with me. the other reason is because I am scared they will tell me they can't fix it and I really don't want another camera!!
Anyway, your here to look at cards right?? Well I hope you are otherwise you are lost!! Hehehe!!
So I used the Sweet Stop Sketch to make this card and I needed to make a little girls card so I thought this LOTV stamp would be perfect!!
I'm not sure if you can see but I stamped the wings out three times so that they had a 3D look. I coloured the image in with H20's and aqua crayons. And those gorgeous flowers are from all the wonderful sweet stuff I won from Jacque. The papers are from Kaszazz!!

I have entered this card into the following challenges:
Fab n Funky: Make it girly
Incy Wincy Designs: Pastel Colours
KB Cute Monday: Use the colour Pink

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

Two cards in one night...

Can you believe it!! I was on a roll last night!! But i have a few things to get done so will make this post quick!! I made this card for a chance to win some gorgeous blog candy over at Promises to Keep. There is a photo for inspiration and we can take anything out of it so i took the colours from the frog (I think that's what it is). I then went and found a sketch to use at Stamp Fairy (although I won't qualify for a prize as i haven't used a Stamp fairy stamp) but that is fine with me, I just like people seeing my cards!!! So this is what I came up with!!
I think the flower paper is from DCWV and the cardstock is Kaszazz. The Pink criss cross paper is from  Kaisercraft. Flowers arre from blog candy I won, LOTV stamp and have coloured the image in with Aquacrayons and H20's. I've also used some Kindyglitz!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Promises to Keep: Inspiration Photo
LOTV Challenge Blog: Say it With Flowers

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

Grab a cuppa and a biccie...

Cos this is gonna be a long post!! Where has the past week gone??? In all that time i have one card too show! i really need to spend less time looking at blogs and more time creating!! I really am missing it!! So I have an hour to get this post done before I get my oldest son from school! I would have had two hours but I just spent the last hour at my youngest son's kinder getting my hair coloured for Krazy for Kye day. Kye is a friend of the family and last year he was diagnosed with Leukemia so over the next week there are various fundraisers going on in our group of friends to raise money for the World's Greatest Shave, in support of Kye and the treatments he is going through!! Life can be so cruel but Kye and his family deal with it the best that they can. So while I'm sitting here typing away, you can picture me with rainbow coloured hair!! LOL!!!
     You never really do know what life will throw at you and my life has been affected a lot with family members losing the battle with cancer so i think the sentiment on this card really resonates that you really do need to cherish your life and go after your dreams and live your life in the now!!!

I really love the way this card turned out!! I blended the colours using a technique that Jennifer Mcguire has on You tube . I used chipped sapphire, walnut stain and dusty concord distress inks, and once I'd applied them to the cardstock I then spritzed the card with a lot of water so that the colours would all blend in together!! Once it was dry I then sprayed it with vanilla shimmer smooch spritz. I've embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder, I made the flowers myself and the butterfly's are made using shrinky dinks!! It's just a beautiful card!! Don't think the pic does it much justice though!! You can't see the shimmer on it!!

I have decided to enter this card into the following challenges:
Let's Ink it up: Embossing
Fussy and Fancy: Embossing and/or paper piecing
Simply Create: Power of flowers
Tellen's Place: Embellishments
Crafty Purple Frog: Things with wings
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes

Before I go for the day I have a couple of blog candies I'd like to promote and have a few thank you's.
As you can see on my sidebar there is a lot of blog candy around at the moment but there are a couple that I thought were worth giving an extra mention!! First of all Lisa over at The cat's Meow is opening her own store on the 21st of March and to celebrate she is giving away a set of 72 copics!! I for one don't have that many copics so I'm in this one for sure. So head on over HERE for your chance to win!!

Another fantastic Blog candy up for offer is over at Corry's blog Free-4-ever. There is way too many goodies to mention but if you want to win a bit of everything that you need to create then head on over there now!!

MY 300 FOLLOWERS CANDY GIVEAWAY
So this brings  me to my Thank you's!! I ended up having a weekend that was very SWEET!! I won two lots of blog candy and a prize (Stampin up stamp set and flowers) at The Picture to page Craft show.. I won 10 Sweet Pea Stamps from Renee over at All Things Considered and won a great package of goodies from Gill over at Creations by Gill M. A Boys Card!!!

I made this card last night and had to take a photo of it quickly with my camera that is having major issues so excuse the pic!! Anyway, I decided to follow the sketch over at Truly Scrumptious as I already had this image coloured up ready to use!!
Isn't he just so cute! I love this Penny Black image (Thanks Sam for letting me use him) I coloured him in using copics and H20's.
I only have ten copic markers  and I love how the images look when they are coloured with them but i am still unsure if I want to buy more of these or just stick with what I have - aqua crayons and twinkling H20's. The reason I am unsure is because 1. I am still learning to use my copics so not willing to buy more till I know how to use them properly and 2. because it costs money that I don't have!! I've also had the debate with myself whether or not to get copics or tria markers (if I was to get markers) I really love the tria markers but they are hard to source and again an expense. So I would love to hear what you all use or what you prefer!!! A bit of help may assist me in my decision!! Thanks in advance!!
Card ingredients:
Papers - Kaisercraft and Kaszazz
Stamps - penny Black and Kaszazz
Copics used - E00, E57, R24, B32, E31
H20's used - Icicles

I have entered this card in the following challenges:
* Truly Scrumptious  - Sketch
* Dream Valley Challenges - Anything Goes
* ECP Challenge - For the Boys

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xxx
