Pretty in Pink at Paper Crafting Journey!!

I have just noticed this is my 600th Post.. wow, that means I have posted close to 600 cards (or creations).. I started making cards about 8 years ago and still to this day I am still really enjoying it! I don't think my style has changed at all and unfortunately my colouring hasn't really improved but I am happy with it! So thanks to all my wonderful followers for sticking with me...  I know I am not the greatest at commenting in peoples blogs but I do stop by regularly! To celebrate my 600th post I am going to send out a little parcel to one of my followers who comments on nearly every single post... That lucky person would be Linda Simpson.. Thank you for always leaving a comment (and sorry that I don't) . If you would like to email me (alethea johnston at yahoo dot com) with your snail mail address then I will get your parcel in the mail.
Now onto the reason we are here... It's time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and this fortnight our theme is Pretty in Pink. We are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs

I have had to search the internet to find the name of this image because I can't seem to find it in my digi collection. Her name is I'm a Survivor and she was a freebie from SSD a few years ago. I coloured her up while I was working at school today so the colouring isn't that great so I apologise. I found all these fabulous pink papers in my stash, then added the flowers ribbon, button and pearls! I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey.

Frame it! at Craft Your Passion!

Sorry for my post being late.. have been busy doing my sisters bookwork and it took way longer than I thought it would.
Anyway, I'm here now...
This weeks challenge at Craft Your Passion is Frame it! so we want to see the main image framed in some way. This week we are sponsored by Inky Impressions
Inky Impressions

I won a couple of Inky Impressions stamps last year and I've never inked them up so thought I would for this challenge. So I have used Mr Fix it Christopher
I coloured Christopher in with tria markers matching the colours of the paper!! I mounted him on the teal paper then cut out a frame. i then just added the stars and buttons. I kept it pretty simple but for a boys card I don't think it needs a lot!
I hope that you can join us this week at Craft your Passion.

Pearls and Lace at Elisabeth Bell's World!

Hello.... it's been a quiet week here on my blog... I do apologise... Have been busy with the boys and just life in general..
It is time for a new challenge over at Elisabeth Bell's World and this month we would like to see you using Pearls and Lace somewhere on your creation. We are sponsored by Elphine House this month. They are an Australian company selling super cute Elisabeth Bell images! Remember that you can use any Elisabeth Bell image from any of the companies she designs for to join in our challenges. I have used (Cinderella I think) from Whiff of Joy (but she is no longer available)
I didn't have any lace so I found this paper on one of my Polka Doodles cd Roms. I coloured Cinderella in with tria markers (tried to match the colours in the paper) Because the paper was so detailed I tried not to add too much more to it so I cut out Cinderella and put her on a die cut oval, then added the ribbon, flowers and pearls.
I hope that you can join us this month at Elisabeth Bell's World.

Sketch 65 at SALS!

Weeks are flying by and I feel like I achieve nothing.. yet here we are nearly 6 months into the year!
It is time for a new challenge at Seems a Little Sketchy and this fortnight we are sponsored by QKR stamps.

here is this fortnights sketch

and here is my card
I chose to use Postman from QKR  but I changed the USA on his hat to AUS.. He is a koala afterall and we all know where they are from..lol. So I coloured Postman in with tria markers! I then just cut three strips of cardstock (blue, white and red), stuck them onto my card then stamped a postcard stamp on top. The  I just added the image and the two stars! I am really happy with the way it turned out. Unfortunately though I have made it upside down so I will have to fix it..lol.
I hope that you will join in our challenge this fortnight at SALS

Pearls and Lace at Craft Your Passion.

After a weeks break due to technical difficulties (over on the CYP blog) we are back with a new challenge. This week at Craft Your Passion we would like to see you using Pearls and Lace (real or faux)! We are sponsored by the fabulous
 Aurora Wings
WE were lucky enough to create with some beautiful images from Aurora Wings and I chose to use
Little Elf Kia.
I chose this image because I thought she was sweet  but I didn't think I could do her any justice with my colouring skills. So I decided to leave her in black and white and just a a splash of colour! I didn't have any lace in my stash so I used my new punch which I think is like lace. I then added the pearls! A quick card to put together but I like the way it turned out (well except for her lips. I think  should have left them alone. )
I hope that you will join us this week at Craft Your Passion.

So now that we have all the formalities out of the way let me share my card with you.
Belle with Laundry
Isn't she so motherly? She reminds me of me when I was a little girl playing mum's and dad's with my auntie. :) I had a originally thought I would colour the clothes all different colours but then I found this beautiful paper on a Polka Doodles cd (Picknix cd rom collection 1) so decided to colour the image in the same as the papers.  I coloured the image in with tria markers and I layered the clothes in the basket. I framed the image with matching cardstock and used my new lace punch. Then I added the flowers, stars and buttons!
I will now send you on your way to Lynne's blog for some more inspiration. If you get lost along the way head back to The Digi Bell's blog. If you would like to buy this sweet image now then you can head on over to Elisabeth Bell's digi collection.
Enjoy the rest of the hop!!
I would like to enter this card into the  following challenges:
* Digi Choosday - Embellish it
* A Little Bit Crafty - Flower Power

For that Special Man!

It is time for a new challenge at Paper Crafting Journey and this fortnight our them is "For that Special Man". A challenge or some, easy for others!! I have actually made more cards for boys lately than I have for girls so I'm not finding this them much of a challenge anymore. We are sponsored by Milk Coffee this month who have the most adorable images!!!
http://www.etsy.com/people/MilkCoffee?ref=owner_profile_leftnav
We were lucky enough to create with some of their images and this is what I created for a friends son in the States.
I had this fabulous soccer paper that I downloaded ages ago (Sorry not sure where it is from) so it fit perfect with the image. So I printed off the soccer balls in the corner an extra couple of times so that  could 3D them. I added a soccer ball brad in the top right hand corner and inked up the number 7 chipboard with white ink! I then coloured the image in with tria markers, going for a bright look so it would pop off the page!
It turned out better than I had hoped and I know the recipient loved it!
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey.

Going for a Walk!

It is Mother's Day here in Australia today so I have been spoilt by my boys and had a very lazy day! i got some lovely home-made and bought presents and breakfast in bed! It was a really lovely day!!
It is my turn to post over on The Digi Bell's Blog and I have created a card using Going For a Walk from Elisabeth Bell's digi collection.
I chose the paper first then picked some colours from that to colour the image (which just happen to be my favourite colours). I then decided to make a checkered look with the papers, added the ribbon, flowers and rhinetsones!! I am very happy with the way the card turned out! If you would like this or any other adorable Elisabeth Bell image then be sure to head on over and check out her digi collection.

Hey there, time for a new sketch at Seems a Little Sketchy. We are sponsored by

here is the sketch

 and here is my card
I really stuck to the sketch this time... no changes or turns this time and no additions (all due to time constraint) So I used this fabulous ice cream paper that I had in my stash and coloured the image with tria markers to match. Then die cut some peony circles for this sassy lady to rest on...
That's it. Super quick...
I hope that you can join us this fortnight at Seems a Little Sketchy.

Spots and Dots at Southern Girls' Challenge.

I bet you are wondering why I am doing a post for the Southern Girls Challenge? Well about 5 weeks ago they put out a call for a couple more DT members and I was lucky enough to be chosen... I have entered quite a few challenges at SGC so I thought I'd like to join the team..... So today is my first challenge with the SGC crew and hopefully I have created something worthy to be a part of this fabulously talented team.
So the challenge for the next three weeks is Spots and Dots and we are sponsored by

and
.

We were lucky enough to choose an image to create with from Ladybug Crafts Ink and I chose
Is she just the cutest and who doesn't love a yummy cupcake? I coloured Wagon Full of Cupcakes from Ladybug Crafts Ink in with tria markers and die cut the image out. I printed off an extra image so that I could get  some depth into the card (but have forgotten to take a photo of the card on a different angle so that you can see) I then found some spotty papers to create my card! All these papers were scraps so just worked with them to get my layout. I added the ribbon and buttons and added the kindyglitz for some added sparkle!!
I hope that you can join us for our Spots and Dots challenge at Southern Girls Challenge.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
* Crafting for all Seasons - Lots of Layers
* Penny's Paper Crafty - Use pastel Colours
* Di's Digi Designs - Birthdays

Spots and/ or Stripes at Paper Crafting Journey!

I bet you're wondering why we have a new challenge already at Paper Crafting Journey.. Well we had a bit of a mix up with Calendar dates and when we realized we were unable to change it as sponsors were locked in.. so here we are...
The theme this fortnight at PCJ is Spots and/or stripes and thankfully I used them on my card because I made it without even looking at the challenge.. oops.
We are sponsored by Kenny K images and as always we were lucky enough to get to create with some of the images.

I coloured Present Surprise in with tria markers trying to match it to the papers. All the papers are from my scraps stash, then I added the twine and buttons.
That's it from me.. will be back soon with another post...
I hope that you will join us this fortnight at Paper Crafting Journey.
