Trying out for GDT at Digi Bell's

My eyes are popping ot of my head as I've been having too many late nights making cards so this is going to be a reasonably short post!! :)
After winning the challenge over at Elisabeth Bell's World last week, and after a suggestion (from Wendy) I thought I'd try out for GDT spot over at Digi Bell's!! Elisabeth Bell is such an amazing artist and in fact it was her stamps that I first purchased from Whiff of Joy a couple of years ago!!! If I had more money I would definitely have more stamps of hers than I already have!! Anyway, in order to try out for the GDT spot I had to do this months challenge which is use 1 image, 2 embellishments and 3 papers!! I think I managed to get all that on my card, although I did struggle a  bit choosing the papers!!

This is a BellesnWhistles stamp which I purchased through Elphine House awhile ago.You can't really see but the wings have clear smooch on them so they shimmer and I put some pearlescent chalk over the dress for some shimmer as well!! I just love this Elisabeth Bell image.. I love being able to ruffle up her dress and pop up her wings!! I bought the flowers at a craft show earlier in the year and i thought they would  be perfect for this card!! I just distressed them with a bit of walnut stain distress ink so they blended with the rest of the card!! I also added some buttons and at the last minute I added the shrinky dink butterflies!! I had planned on putting a sentiment there but Australia post is so unreliable and I still haven't received them!! Never mind!!

As well as making this for the Digi Bell's GDT I am also entering this into the Elphine House Challenge for this fortnight which is Shades of Pink and Blue.

Well I am off to bed!!

Until Next Time...Enjoy!! xx

Super Quick Post

Blogger was not playing nice last night so was unable to post and yesterday I did not have a camera so was unable to take photos of my cards so will have some new stuff to show you tomorrow!!
So today I am sharing a couple of cards Logan made!! He loves embellishments like me as you can see. The more the better he thinks!! He was very proud of his cards (as was I) and he ended up giving them both away!! He gave one to my nephew and one to my sister so that she can give it to him on his birthday!! How cute is that!! LOL!!

I promise I will be back tomorrow with a card or two to share!! I want to try out for a GDT at Digi Bell's and I have to have my card in by tomorrow so will defnitely be back!!
Until next Time...Enjoy!! xx

Groovy baby!!

A couple of days ago I came across some 60's stamps over at Beyond the Fringe Crafts and Digital Stamps and thought they'd be perfect  with my Lil Lolita  60's Willow and 60's Lad Stefan from Tickled Pink Stamps.
I originally had the idea to make a tri shutter card which I did end up doing but when I was closing it I thought it would have been a great gatefold card too so I've taken a few different photos to show the card!!

It did take awhile to put this together, mainly because I had my new neighbour decide to come and visit last night and introduce herself!! She was slightly intoxicated but she bought some Tim Tam's with her so I guess it was ok!! LOL!! She actually scared the crap out of me when she knocked cos it was nearly 10pm so I didn't answer the door at first but when she knocked the second time I did answer very cautiously!! Anyway, she came in and had a cuppa dn she seems nice enough!! :)
So back to my card!! I coloured all the images in with my Tria's and added a bit of bling but don't think you can see it in the photo's. I also added crystal effects to the windows of the combi (from Stamposaurus) so it looked like glass!! The paper is from my stash and I just added lots of flowers that I punched out from scraps!!! I really am happy with it and Logan my four year old has claimed it already cos he loves it...

I am entering this card into the following challenge:
* Happileigh Scrappin Challenge - Shaped or multiple fold cards

Until Next Time...Enjoy!!xx

Very excited!!

I have just come from visiting the Elisabeth Bell's World Challenge Blog to see what the new challenge is and to my excitement I read that I have won last months challenge!! My winning card is HERE!!

I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd win a challenge over there because there are so many other talented crafters that had entered so that makes this win even sweeter!! So thanks to Elisabeth and the DT for choosing my card!!

In continuing on with my goal this week of posting every night, I have another card to share!! Now I'll be honest and let you know that I did make this the other day but I spent last night colouring my images for my next creation so that took all night!!
I made this card for my son's friend's birthday so I kept it fairly simple cos as much as I love making cards I know kids really only care about one thing and that is the PRESENT!!
This image is Har Repotter The Chosen One from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I coloured him in with Tria's then just added a few coloured cardstocks, embossed the squares, added some sstars and again used my new tags from The Emerald Faerie Garden that I just love!! Not sure how I lived without them!! LOL!!
My boys loved this card so hopefully the birthday boy did too!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

A stitch in time...

Sorry couldn't think of another heading...LOL! Just looked at my card and saw faux stitching on it and that's what popped into my head!!
Anyway, this is day four of my challenge I set myself of making and posting a card everyday for  a week!! I am hoping that I will continue to post regularly after the week is up but wanted to set myself  mini challenge!! Now that the kids are back at school and going to bed a their regualr time, I am now back into my routine of cardmaking as soon as they go to bed!!
So I've had this Magnolia image stampedfor awhile now so thought I'd create with it and this is what I came up with!!
I followed the A Gem of a Challenge Sketch and as always added extras cos there were spaces that needed to be filled!! :) Again I used kaszazz papers, did some faux stitching around the edges of the papers then added my flowers, rhinestones, hearts, ribbon and buttons!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
* Our Creative Corner - All the B's
* A Gem of a Challenge - Sketch
* Paper Cutz challenge - Anything Goes
* Art Impressions Stamps - Faux or Real Stitching

I just added a bit of colour to the cows udders and nose and the flowers and I was done. Used some Kaszazz papers, added a bit of ribbon and made some flowers and I again I used the ticket sentiment from  Emerald Faerie Gardens. Pretty simple card but looks great I think!! My auntie will love it!!

A card for Elphine House's First Challenge!!

Have you visited the new Elphine House Shop or Blog yet? They are an Australian based online company selling Elisabeth Bell Stamps and the first six images are just gorgeous.
And this is one of them:

This is Yummy Pudding!! Isn't she just gorgeous!! I fell in love with her the minute I saw her!! I actually won this stamp through a giveaway on Elisabeth Bell's Blog..
So I specifically made this card for Elphine House's first challenge - Lace it Up! I chose the papers first again, these papers are from Kaszazz, then I coloured in Yummy Pudding with my Tria's. I was really happy with my colouring this time!! I'm slowly learning how to colour but I still don't get the whole thinking where the light would hit!! I love to colour and I love how my images turn out and although I've been overlooked for DT positions because my colouring isn't as good as others I think I'll just stick to how I feel and enjoy my colouring rather than trying to please others!!
I  decided to follow the sketch over at Elisabeth Bell's World for this card, thought it was a great sketch to work with!! I of course added a few extra things onto my card but I followed the basic sketch! I used Lace and added my flowers that I made and some rhinestones and to finish it off I used my new ticket digi stamps that I won over at Emerald Faerie Garden. Thanks Deb!! It finished off the card just perfect!!!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
* Elphine House - Lace it Up
* Elisabeth Bell's World - Sketch
* The Emerald Faerie Garden Challenges - All things Nice (Girly)
* Craft us Crazy - Anything  Goes
* Crafts and Me - Add a Flower

Until next Time...Enjoy!! xx

Time for another Challenge...

over at Paper Crafting Journey. Last week was our For Him challenge and wow...some amazing, creative entries! Make sure you check the blog to see if your creation won!!
On to challenge #15 this fortnight which is a Sketch by our very talented DT member Laura plus it has to be GIRLY.

We are being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads and wow has she got some cute images.

We were able to choose an image to use for this challenge and boy was that hard... So many could have been used for this challenge but I went with "Window Princess" otherwise known as Rapunzel (so says my niece - :) ) THANKS DI!!
Here is my card:

Before I started this card I decided what paper I was going to use first then coloured the image in using colours that were in the paper!! I know most people probably colour their images this way but usually I sit and colour images then when it comes time to using them I find papers to match my image!! I must say that it i more practical doing it the way I have done it this time as I was able to match everything without having to look through all my papers trying to match everything together!!
Anyway, I'm not sure where the bird paper is from but the cardstock is from Kaszazz. I used the SU eyelet border punch and coloured the image in with Tria's and used gold and red glitter pens on the flowers and hair!! I 3D'd the image as I wanted it to loo like she was hanging out the window. Not sure that it really worked though! I also 3D'd the flowers!! I then just added the buttons, flowers and rhinestones..

So there you have it.. Hopefully I have given you a bit of inspiration and you can now go off and using Laura's sketch Create something Girly!! Can't wait to see your creations!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

Mouse in the Mirror!!

Thanks Sam for the catchy title!! I love it!! :) So my two boys are obsessed with Michael Jackson at the moment.. to the point where if they hear a Michael Jackson song no matter where we are they break into dance!! It is just hilarious actually! During the school holidays I took the boys to see The Man in the Mirror Reflections of Michael Jackson show and they were just star struck. I thought they would have got up and danced but they just sat there, watching and singing!! I think every day since we went to the show Liam has thanked me for taking him!! He really did love it!! And recently, to my son's delight,  Whiff of Joy released a MJ Henry digi stamp. So of course I bought it and we have all been busy creating!!!. Liam sat down the other night and made a few cards for his friends which he was very proud of!!
This is his card that he made for himself!!
Liam coloured  MJ henry in with my whispers markers and he used some clear smooch on the glove and on the white strip of the hat! to give it some sparkle!. He said the blue sparkle paper was the stage and then he stuck MJ henry on top and added the stars!! He was very pleased with the job that he did!! As was I!! My boys really love colouring and making cards with me!! I will post Logan's card tomorrow! He hasn't finished his yet!!

And here are my creations using MJ Henry!!

I decided to photograph this card on my program I bought from the Michael Jackson History World Tour back in 1996 at Wembley Stadium in London. I think Alison Acton (designer for Whiff of Joy) did a fantastic job capturing who Michael was!!! I coloured MJ Henry in with Tria's and added clear smooch to his glove for that little bit of bling!! I then assembled the card using brown cardstock as the base, added the music paper from Kaszazz, cut out an oval piece of brown cardstock and an oval piece of the kaisercraft striped paper. I then popped MJ on some foam squares and stuck him on top, added the rhinestones around the oval and the added the stars!! I wasn't sure whether I should add anything else so I sent a photo of my card to my friend Sam who is my mentor and inspiration when it comes to card making (check out her blog, she has some stunning creations)and she said I didn't need to add anything to it so I took her advice and left it as is!! Thanks Sam!! If I give it to someone for an occasion I will probably add a sentiment to it..

I am entering this into the following challenges
* Cupcake Crafts - Wish Upon a Star
* Cardmadfairy's Digi day Challenge - Include an animal
* A Gem of a Challenge - Let's Hear it for the Boys
* Charisma Cards Challenges - It's in the Stars

I then made this bookmark cos Liam wanted a new one as he lost the last one I made him and he wanted the Tickled Pink Lil Lad surfer dude but I decided to surprise him with an MJ bookmark instead!! He was thrilled with it!! I used all the same supplies for the bookmark as I used for the card!! Plus I added the buttons and Raffia. I think it turned out pretty darn good and the only person that needed to be happy with it was!! :)

I am entering this into the following challenges
* KB Cute Monday - Use a digital stamp
* The Corrosive Challenge Blog - Let the Music play!
* Totally Gorjuss - All about the Boys
* Crafty Creations - Boyz to Men
* Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
* Little Miss Muffet Stamps - Anything but a Card
* Sweet Stampin' - One for the Boys
* Creative Card Crew - Animal Antics

I have decided not to list all the tria colours I have used as I don't think there is anyone else out there that uses them (that I have seen in my blog adventures) but if you do use Tria's and would like to know the colours I have used I would be more than happy to let you know so just leave a comment asking  for the numbers if you do!!

Until Next Time...Enjoy!! xx

A card for Charlie!!!

Hope wherever you are in the world something or someone is making you smile!!! We are coming to the end of the school holidays here in Victoria and boy have we been busy. But I have found time to make cards or at least do something to do with making cards! My friend Sam came up for an overnight stay yesterday with her two boys and when all our boys eventually went to bed we were able to catch up and craft!! I ended up stamping out heaps of magnolia images (cos Sam is a Magnolia addict - tehehe) and Sam spent the night colouring!!! It was nice to talk and do something we both enjoy together.
On to the reason I'm posting. I made this card for my nephew Charlie whose birthday is in a couple of weeks. It's actually taken a few days to put together  because i made it then decided I needed to change a couple of things so this afternoon I finished it off and I am so excited with the end result and my sister loves it too which is good because it is actually for her to give to Charlie!!!
I started using a mojo monday sketch but went right of on a tangent and it ended up being nothing like the sketch!! LOL!! I do love these Easel cards as you may well have noticed you can just add loads more embellishments and depth to them!!
I used this cute La La Land Crafts stamp and coloured him in with Tria's. (As of my next image I'm going to start writing down what colours I use). I've then just used some Echo Park paper add loads of embellishments and today I made some shrinky trucks which finished it off perfectly!!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
* Deep Ocean Challenge - Cards
* Craft your passion - Just for you
* Lollipop Crafts - Anything Goes
* A Gem of a Challenge - Let's hear it for the Boys

Until Next Time...Enjoy!! xx

Here's some I made earlier!!!

I am back from a wet and windy few days down at Warrnambool but had a great time with friends and the boys!!! We did manage to have one nice day where we were able to go whale watching ( didn't see any though!!) and spend some time at Lake Pertobe adventure park where the kids burnt off heaps of energy!! I had such a wonderful time because for the first time in a very long time I watched my two boys play together so nicely without fighting or arguing. They were the best of friends and it really made me smile and made me think that I'm doing okay!!!!

Here is a pic of us at Logan's Beach:

I love this photo of the three of us!!

Now I made this card quite awhile ago for my niece's 16th birthday but I had to wait till after the PCJ Blog Hop till I could share it with you!!
I cannot remember what colours I coloured Ally and Beeble in with but I used my Tria's!! I embossed the base card and distressed the edges of the white card with Violet Mist Vivid ink. I then just added
the flowers, rhinestones and the number 16. I really loved how it turned out for my first Emerald Faeries card!!

This card was made for my sisters birthday. It is quite a clean and simple card but I was very happy with how it turned out!!  I got this digi stamp awhile ago from Dragon's Moore - Spyder's Other Corner but never coloured it up! Again I coloured it in with Tria's but not sure what colours I used. I then just picked some bright coloured cardstock, embossed them and put it all together, then added the buttons!!

I'm entering both of these cards into the following challenge:
* Quirky Crafts - No patterned papers (make your own)

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx

A card and a shout out about some yummy candy!!

My kids have a friend over so leaving me alone so thought I would catch up on some postings and tidy up my blog!! Needed to throw out some wrappers on some candy (as winners have already been announced and I have a couple of cards to share!! One of them is a friends birthday card who I am hoping has received it today otherwise she will probably see it on here first!! :) So I will share my cards first then I will tell you about some candy on offer at a few blogs that I love to visit!!

I made this card for a 6th birthday party but when I showed the boys the next morning  I decided it wasn't right for a 6 year old... so Liam ended up making his own card for is friend!!! But I do love this card!! Nice and bright and I'm sure someone will love it when I give it to them!!!
I think the spotty paper I used for the background is echo park and the image is a Dustin Pike image. I coloured it in with my Tria markers ( B555, R445, O277,V245, G555, C446, B128, Y156, V518) I also used a red and blue glitter pen.  The cardstock is just scraps from the every growing pile that I have!!

This is just a side view so you can see the depth of the card!

I'm entering this into the folllow challenges
* Crafts and Me - Birthdays

This is the card I made for Sam!! I have known Sam since high school and only in the past couple of years did we realize we had a similar passion for paper crafts (Sam is way better than me though). So this is the card I made for Sam's birthday. It was actually a pretty simple card to put together but I really loved the end result! The flower paper is from Kaszazz. iI then just cut the fence from another Magnolia stamp and sat Tilda in cute skirt on it.  I coloured Tilda in with my tria's (BL, R247, C847, O729, M428, O528, O535, O225) Then I just added some rhinestones to the bottom of the card and some kindyglitz to the flowers and butterfly! oh and the punch I used was the SU eyelet border punch!

* Allsorts - Free and Easy July

Well as much as I really wanted to be a part of this blog to help celebrate Gill's birthday I have to say I really struggled to work with Pink! I am not a pink girl at all.. never have been so this was a real challenge for me!! So this card took me a long time to make even though it looks like a pretty simple card!! I just couldn't decide how to decorate it!! In the end I think it turned out ok!! I hope that Gill likes it, that's all that matters I guess, after all, today is all about her!!

So here is my card!!
I couldn't do an all pink card - I needed to break it up a bit but it is mainly pink!!! I coloured the owls in with my aquacrayons and although you can't see it I also dusted the owls with shimmer chalk for a bit of sparkle!! There's also some Kindyglitz added around the owls!! And I've just added buttons and flowers and rhinestone's to decorate the rest of the card!!

Well that's it from me!! Your next stop on this PINK hop is over at the very talented Debbie T. I'm sure she will wow you with her PINK creation.
Enjoy the rest of your hop!!

Until Next Time... Enjoy!! xx
